Organizational Snapshot

Full Circle Farm Sanctuary (FCFS) is a Georgia-based nonprofit providing lifelong sanctuary and care to farmed animals.

Founded in 2010 and expanded to Georgia in 2016, FCFS is located on 55 acres beside F.D. Roosevelt State Park and is home to more than 100 rescued residents across 13 species.

In recognition of excellence in animal care, ethical practices, and long-term sustainability, FCFS became the first farmed-animal sanctuary in Georgia to earn accreditation from the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS). In 2025, FCFS was also awarded the international Outstanding Farmed Animal Sanctuary Award—making us the only sanctuary to ever receive both honors in the same year, a reflection of sustained diligence and accountability in practice.

The FCFS Care Model

Full Circle Farm Sanctuary exists to provide safety, dignity, and lifelong care to animals who were once farmed, discarded, neglected, abused, or needing more care than  previous circumstances could provide.

Here, residents are not required to perform, engage, or produce in exchange for their life. They are supported as individuals — provided time, space, and autonomy to heal, form relationships, and age with dignity. Whether a resident chooses interaction or solitude, their comfort and choice always come first.

Many of the animals in our care are seniors. In an industry where animals are rarely permitted to grow old, we consider it a responsibility to stand beside residents through every stage of life — including the complex medical and mobility needs that aging brings.

Governance & Stewardship

FCFS operates under a deliberately lean, board-led governance model designed to support long-term stability and accountability.

The sanctuary has no executive director and no administrative staff. Governance and organizational operations are led by three long-time volunteer board members—each with 9 to 11 years of service—working in close collaboration with a skilled Animal Care team responsible for daily resident care.

This structure ensures continuity, transparency, and that donated funds directly support resident care, infrastructure, and mission execution.

Impact Beyond the Sanctuary

While FCFS provides daily care to over 100 residents, our work extends beyond the fences.

Through education, outreach, and storytelling, we work alongside our local and broader community to foster understanding of farmed animals as individuals and to examine the systems that shape their lives. The residents of FCFS represent a small fraction of the animals affected by animal agriculture — but their lives help inform, challenge, and engage the public around the realities of farming, and why compassion, accountability, and thoughtful change matter—for animals, people, and the environment we share.

FCFS advocacy is grounded in presence and respect — centering residents’ lived experiences rather than abstraction, spectacle, or shock-driven messaging.

FCFS Ethics: Standing Beside the Residents

Language and role are approached with intention.

This is not “our sanctuary,” and the animals here are not “ours.” The sanctuary belongs to the residents—it is their home. No matter how long we have served FCFS, we remain guests, caretakers, and advocates, privileged to stand beside the individuals who live here.

Respect begins at rescue. When a new resident arrives, we honor their name if they have one—or offer one if they do not. We respect boundaries, never forcing interaction except when necessary for medical care. We honor family bonds and chosen relationships, making decisions with those connections in mind.

The care we provide is not transactional. Residents are not expected to produce, perform, or repay their safety. Our responsibility is to their protection, comfort, and long-term well-being.

Why Vegan

A vegan lifestyle is among the most effective ways to reduce animal suffering, lower environmental impact, address food insecurity, and support human health.

At FCFS, everyone is welcome, and we share this perspective as part of our ongoing efforts to educate, foster understanding, and support systems-level change.

An Invitation to Stand With Us

Full Circle Farm Sanctuary is sustained entirely by individual support, ensuring that our work remains mission-driven and accountable to the residents we serve.

To those who have donated, volunteered, attended events, or supported the sanctuary in any capacity — thank you. Your support sustains lifelong care and long-term stability. You are part of every life protected, every promise kept, and every step forward.

If you’re just discovering FCFS, we invite you to learn more and find your place within this mission. Whether through giving, volunteering, sponsorship, or simply bearing witness to the residents’ lives, there is a way to stand beside them.

This year marks a meaningful milestone for the sanctuary—our 16th year of service and ten years on this land dedicated to lifelong care. We invite you to participate in what comes next.
