ROO-PORTER! I am crowing loud and proud from my home at the FCFS barn because there is so much happening in May that it requires this Special Roos Alert.
My Roo Crew friends and I are counting down the days until International Respect for Chickens Day, this coming Saturday May 4th. It’s a day to celebrate my fellow chicken friends and honor our lives. It’s also a day to acknowledge the plight of our species. The things we endure when we haven’t made it to sanctuary, and because of selective breeding over generations, the life long struggles we live with even when we have made it to safety.
Though this is a big day for all of us chickens, my flockmate Kylo Ren has a double celebration and is the most excited among us. Something about, “may the fourth be with you”? He keeps going into detail about, Jedi’s, Darth Vadar, and Snoke. It gets really confusing and I don’t have a firm grasp on exactly who these individuals are. I will roo-port back after I have conducted a thorough study and investigation. What I do know is that despite Kylo Ren’s dark feathers, he has chosen the light side of the Force. I mean, he does tell us this, but I can also see it in his actions. He’s a great friend to us all.

They’ll be giving you the opportunity to meet some of my friends in Chicken Village and telling stories about us.
