How is the FCFS Resident Sponsorship Program different?
Traditional sponsorship programs start with small amounts of money for small animals, like birds, and work their way up to larger amounts for large animals, like cows and horses.
We wanted to do something different!
It’s a common misconception that smaller animals cost less to take care of. In fact, at FCFS we spend a considerably larger amount on small animals like chickens, because of the ways their bodies have been mistreated by animal agriculture. We feel it is important for people to know that just because a resident is small, does not mean they are less expensive to care for.
What is the cost to sponsor an individual resident at FCFS?
We calculated the cost per resident, across species, and came up with one number, $75, that applies to everyone. If you would like to sponsor one of our residents, the cost is the same, no matter if they are a chicken, a duck, a cow, or a goat.
How can you make an impact on an individual life?
Sponsoring a resident means that you are personally contributing to their care, feeding, vetting, and quality of life. Sponsoring a resident also gives you a strong and more personal connection to the animal rights movement, and a story you can tell when you speak to others.
Can I give someone a sponsorship as a gift?
Yes, sending the gift of a resident sponsorship is a wonderful way to show someone you care while also helping the residents of FCFS.
