Four pot bellied pigs share a seperate pasture adjacent to the big pigs. They are able to see and visit with their larger friends, but are kept apart by fencing. The pot bellied residents are much smaller than the big pigs and need their own space to roam safely.
Pot bellied pig abandonment is a huge issue. People are tricked into believing that "tea cup", "micro", and "mini" pigs actually exist. However, this is a myth and deceptive marketing. In reality these small pigs are actually pot bellied pigs who are either very young or severely underfed to give off the "micro" appearance. Sadly shelters become over run by pot bellies needing homes. They are also frequently dumped in dangerous environments, and often times seen as pests and are at risk of harm. Pot bellied pigs deserve love, respect, and safety. We're thankful and honored to care for our little herd.
